Reports to:
Director of Special Education
Responsible for assisting administrators, teachers, and special education staff in providing supports and services to special education students.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive, educationally relevant evaluations for students suspected of or at risk of a hearing disability and/or communication disorder, including articulation, fluency, voice, language communication, as defined under IDEA eligibility guidelines.
- Participate in the review of data with other members of an IEP team to inform appropriate instruction and interventions based on student identified needs. This may include providing consult and support for students who qualify for a 504 and/or an IEP, as defined under IDEA eligibility guidelines.
- Case manage students identified with hearing impairments only for the purposes of the IEP process.
- Collaborate with school, parents, teachers, special support personnel, and relevant community agencies and professionals to ensure delivery of appropriate services to promote academic success.
- Familiar with child‑find processes and procedures.
- Manage and troubleshoot hearing equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Prefer applicants with experience working in a school setting, but not required.
- Ability to speak both English and Spanish preferred.
Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech Language Pathology; ASHA Certification.
Licenses or CertificationMust hold a Special Services license issued by CDE.
EssentialPhysical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires sitting, walking, and standing, in a clean and healthy environment.

SalaryPlacement on Licensed salary schedule based upon previous teaching experience and highest degree and college credits earned after student teaching was completed.
