Salary Range: $90-110K, based on experience

What You’ll Do

A Permitting Agent is responsible for researching, preparing, reviewing, tracking, and maintaining current documents related to construction permits. This role supports internal and external project managers, land agents, field crews and their supervisors, and clients by ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal and external policies and permit requirements, enabling the timely execution of construction projects. Additionally, the Permitting Agent will have responsibilities to include coordinating and establishing new site permits, modifying existing permits, and assisting with other permit types that may be necessary for permitting and construction needs, to include management of milestones to align all key stakeholders and sub-contracts to create alignment on execution of the rights granted in said permits.

This position is on-site in Colorado.

  • Establish a records system to contain/track permit details including expiration dates, uploads of digital files to ArcGIS Online, and completion of final files to contain paper copies of executed agreements.
  • Identify where permits are required for assigned projects with state agencies and local municipalities.
  • Verify permit requirements and stipulations are met.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders, promptly addressing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Initiate contact with entities to provide the scope of work, timing of proposed work, and access requirements to submit permit applications to secure all necessary permits and NTPs.
  • Work with traffic control companies to secure traffic control plans (TCPs) required for permits with agencies and municipalities.
  • Follow up with appropriate entities to obtain signed permits/agreements.
  • Collaborate with field personnel and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely permit execution.
What You’ll Bring

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience performing tasks outlined herein for utility projects, and a strong understanding and proven experience with local and regional jurisdictional non-environmental permitting.
  • Experience in permitting solar, wind, and electric transmission projects preferred.
  • Experience with environmental and federal permitting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with permitting software and database management.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
