Description: Please join us as a Circuit Design Engineer
, where you will work on the development of a sophisticated state‑of‑the‑art tactical avionics system for the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) program. FBM is the U.S. Navy’s premiere effort towards enabling world‑wide strategic nuclear deterrence and global stability and security for the U.S. and its allies.

This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Englewood or Littleton, CO, and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full‑time.

What does this role look like?

You will lead the design and development of complex missile networking technologies from ASIC/FPGA through circuit card and subsystem levels.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
  • Develop complex missile network architectures to meet performance, safety and radiation requirements.
  • Lead development of technical review artifacts and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead development across functions: electronics, cable and harness design, signal integrity, ASIC/FPGA design, radiation design.
  • Design and prototype unique network technologies with stringent requirements.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
  • Effective at decomposing all aspects of network development (physical layer hardware, software, FPGA/ASIC development, and cabling) to create discrete tasking and provide a vision for the integrated team to follow.
  • Experience in the full program life‑cycle of aerospace hardware development.
  • Experience leading technical teams and interacting with peers, management and government customers.
  • Experience in presentations and in written communication skills.
  • 8+ years of professional experience.
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Experience designing complex custom circuits for high reliability applications.
  • Experience leading small technical teams through all phases of product development: design, verify, test, and qualify.
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.

Skills:
  • Experience presenting complex technical topics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience designing complex electronics for aerospace and/or space applications.
  • Experience with strategic radiation‑hardened or space‑rated design.
  • Experience generating and decomposing network requirements in relation to a system architecture.
  • Experience with system noise characterization testing for network‑related devices.
  • Experience designing for safety around sensitive electronics and/or ordnance.
  • Missile design experience.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our paid time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off.
