PositionElectrical Engineer
What you will doArchitect, design, develop, test and troubleshoot modular and discrete mixed‑signal circuits used in conjunction with custom firmware, to create leading‑edge laser‑based measurement products and related manufacturing fixtures for Professional Measurement, Traffic Safety and Consumer markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full product lifecycle development and hands‑on experience in both analog and digital circuit design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop digital and analog electronic hardware architecture and designs leveraging the latest commercial modular solutions along with development of custom discrete circuits.
- Develop architectures that include end‑of‑life, cost and regulatory considerations.
- Create circuit schematics and utilize circuit design/layout software to define mechanical layout limits and keep‑out areas, complete component placement, manually route critical traces, auto route non‑critical traces, assemble final BOMs, and create component height drawings.
- Perform bring‑up evaluation and testing on prototype boards to ensure proper construction and function before handing off to firmware development.
- Analyze circuits from other members of the technical team, identify problems, and make recommendations for improved performance, reduced layout area, and optimized cost.
- Utilize test equipment, component knowledge, and troubleshooting experience to support root‑cause evaluation of development project issues and customer problems as needed.
- Consult with firmware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, as well as operational and performance requirements of overall system.
- Create hardware documentation, including use of component datasheets, schematics, circuit analysis reports, test procedures and results, cost evaluations, production procedures and the like to support new development and modification of existing products.
