This position is a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems.

Responsibilities include:

+  Under the direction of the electrical engineering lead or project manager, this position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems

+  You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues or design new electrical engineering systems.

+  Assist the electrical engineering lead or project manager in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.

+  Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase AC and DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting and protective relay settings.

+  Prepare engineering documentation for design input for drawing production.

+  Prepare and review engineering reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats.

+  Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.

Essential skills and experience:

+  A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required

+  5 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design, or modifications or replacements of existing systems; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications

+  Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations

+  Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others

+  Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills

+  Effective written and verbal communication skills

+  Effective working in teams and individual work

+  Detail oriented approach to work

Valued but not required skills and experience:

+  PE license

+  MSEE

+  

Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures

+  Construction and start-up experience a plus

+  We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows.
