Job Overview
Lockheed Martin’s Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) division is seeking a dependable project engineer to lead the development and management of the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) hardware. The role will act as a cost account manager (CAM) within the PBCS hardware IPT, representing the team with the Navy partner, Lockheed Martin leadership, and suppliers. Responsibilities include creating long‑range technical, schedule, and budget plans, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities, and implementing risk handling plans.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and drive execution of the long‑range plan.
- Contribute to new business trade studies.
- Enhance cross‑discipline product development.
- Mentorship and professional development.
- Serve as the long‑range plan technical interface to FBM management, systems engineering, quality, and Navy counterparts.
- 4‑year degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
- Experience in project management, financial management, or as a Control Account Manager.
- Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience.
- Experience with FBM processes and products.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Propulsion hardware development experience.
- Experience with refractory metals.
- Leadership as principal engineer delegate or project lead.
- Resource estimation, component development estimation, project planning, and project management.
- Integrated Master Schedule initial drafting and baselining.
- DoD project management with Earned Value Management and other DoD requirements.
- Risk and opportunity management with continuous improvement concepts.
- Proposal development:
Basis of Estimate (BOE), Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM), & Statement of Work (SOW) generation. - Gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership and initiative.
This position requires a U.S. Government security clearance. A U.S. citizen must apply. Clearance level:
Secret.
