Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s outstanding Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. The Life Extension 2 (LE2) team is an organization within the greater FBM program which supports the development of the next generation system by developing concepts, researching, and maturing technologies to support the development of the next FBM Missile System.

The Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for a Mechanical Engineer Senior in a Post Boost Control System (PBCS) hardware IPT. In this role, you will support the development of propulsion thrusters through requirement maturation, integration, and testing.

Basic

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from accredited college or related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Hardware experience including design, analysis, assembly, integration, and/or test
  • Experience in working with suppliers and external customers
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills
  • Experience with FBM processes and products
  • Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience
  • Experience with propulsion hardware
  • Experience using EPDM Windchill, SAP, CREO, and design tools
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, etc)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
