Pay Rate: $40/hr.
As an A&P Mechanic III, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement, and maintenance of the key components of aircraft. You will perform necessary checks in regard to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including testing and replacement of defective or faulty parts. You will use a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose parts that need replacement, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards, while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hangar or workshop.
You will demonstrate knowledge in one of the three main components of aviation maintenance: airframe maintenance, power‑plant mechanics, or airframe and power‑plant (A&P) components.
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs and steps.
- Frequently repeat the same hand, arm, and finger motions many times, requiring finger and hand dexterity.
- Frequently requires vision abilities, including close, distance, and depth perception, and ability to distinguish colors.
- Frequently requires hearing abilities, including discerning different tones and volumes.
- Frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.).
- Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
- Frequently exposed to loud noises.
- Responsible for the safety or security of people or property; inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous, or hazardous materials.
- Inspects structures, equipment, or vehicles.
- Performs aviation‑related duties.
- Operates or supervises vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment, or machinery.
Must-haves:
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
- Reliable transportation to and from work locations.
- Own tools in good working order.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including hearing testability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
- Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
- FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
- Ability to travel regularly and/or work different shifts, including overtime and weekends.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience. A higher level degree may substitute for experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
