Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture and test
- Participate in the selection, qualification, test and failure analysis of EEE Parts
- Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organization
- Work on electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits (ICs), hybrids, crystals, crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors, and thermistors
- Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure electronic component selections meet quality expectations and product performance requirements
- Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and construction of electrical parts and circuits, semiconductor physics and operation of devices such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors
- Knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials and processes used in EEE parts
- Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or related technical field and at least one year of related professional work experience
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics or related field of study
- Familiarity with specifications, program plans and other technical requirements
- Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
- Basic understanding of nuclear effects on EEE parts and ability to work with Survivability Engineers in strategic rad‑hard applications
- Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements
- Basic understanding of worst‑case analysis (WCA), EEE parts derating and end‑of‑life requirements
- Ability to evaluate current and developing technologies for EEE parts in complex design packages
- Experience with failure analysis, destructive physical analysis and/or root‑cause and corrective action analysis related to EEE parts
- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans and other requirements)
- Active or current Secret clearance or higher
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret.
