Basic Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, operation of devices such as relays, hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors
- Knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials and processes used in EEE parts
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams
- Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required
Lockheed Martin Space, Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program, is seeking an Electrical Component Engineer to join our team in Littleton, CO. You will lead and/or assist in the performance of Electrical Component (Parts) Engineering and the development of the program electrical, electronic, electromechanical (EEE) parts management plan. You will evaluate new technologies and work closely with survivability, designers, test and manufacturing engineers, agencies such as DLA, part manufacturers and test labs.
You’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the harshest environments and most critical strategic systems.
- Participate in Electrical / Electronic / Electromechanical (EEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture and test
- Participate in the selection, qualification, test and failure analysis of EEE Parts
- Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering and Procurement/Supply Chain organization
- Work on electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits (ICs), hybrids, crystals, crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors and thermistors
- Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure electronic component selections meet both quality expectations and product performance requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics or related field of study
- Familiarity with technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
- Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
- Basic understanding of nuclear effects on EEE parts and demonstrated ability to work closely with Survivability Engineers in strategic rad-hard applications
- Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements
- Basic understanding of worst‑case analysis (WCA), EEE parts derating and end‑of‑life requirements
- Ability to evaluate current and developing technologies for EEE parts in complex design packages
- Experience or knowledge of failure analysis, destructive physical analysis and/or root‑cause and corrective action analysis related to EEE parts
- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
- Active or current Secret clearance or higher
