As an Avionics Technician IV, you will supervise avionics maintenance teams and oversee the most complex diagnostics and repairs. You will ensure all work meets the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities- Supervise installation, testing, and repair of avionics systems.
- Oversee complex diagnostics and troubleshooting tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and compliant with regulations.
- Conduct advanced training sessions for avionics staff.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain high standards of safety and work quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments.
- Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens.
- Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments.
- Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment.
- Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.
- Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Expertise in avionics systems and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; route wires per technical drawings.
- Advanced skills with moderately complex avionics installation tooling, wiring, repair, installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
- Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field (preferred).
- Leadership experience in a maintenance environment (preferred).
- Advanced problem solving and decision making skills (preferred).
- Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL) (preferred).
- Ability to mentor and guide subordinates (preferred).
- Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment (preferred).
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military (preferred).
- U.S. citizenship is required for an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Estimated starting salary range: $38.39 - $52.79 per hour. Compensation varies depending on factors such as skills, experience, education, training, and certifications. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
