Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Mid to Senior Piping Designer for our Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, and Billings, MT offices.
Your RoleThis position provides design and drafting support for pipeline, pump station, compressor station, and terminal/tank projects nationwide, working with a team of established consultants.
Typical Tasks- Work with multi‑disciplined engineering and design teams
- Utilize 3D modeling and design software
- Apply piping specifications and design codes and standards
- Conduct field walk‑downs of facilities
- Mentor junior level designers and provide guidance
- Develop mechanical drawings including Overall Site plans, Piping Plans, Isometric drawings and views, Orthographic views, and Typical Details
- Create piping component files for stress analysis calculations
- Prepare reports for material take‑offs
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or equivalent
- 5–15 years of experience in 3D design and/or drafting
- Basic 3D design/drafting skills with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Plant 3D, CADWorx, and/or Revit
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
- Exposure to Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Projectwise, and SharePoint is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑starter capable of handling solo projects and working effectively in a team
- Detail oriented and eager to learn and expand skillset
- Experience with Autodesk Plant3D, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks, Cadworx, Autodesk Revit, and Autodesk Civil 3D
US $60,000.00 to $ (pay factor varies by education, experience, skills, location, and other factors)
Physical Requirements- Constantly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms
- Use hands for keyboard or typing, handling materials, or manipulating objects
- Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Frequently move about to accomplish tasks
- Use close vision and depth perception; adjust focus as needed
- Speak clearly and hear adequately to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively by phone or in person
- Prioritize and handle multiple urgent tasks simultaneously with high accuracy and composure
- Climb stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites when required
- Work in indoor offices, outdoor environments, extreme temperatures, fumes, variable weather conditions, and noisy sites on occasional work trips
