Job Summary

This position keeps a high-cycle GA piston fleet airworthy from one end to the other — routine inspections, avionics integration, electrical troubleshooting, and structural work — all reported to the Director of Maintenance. Strong upward mobility for a technician looking to build depth across a genuinely varied fleet with real technical ambition behind it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across an active GA piston fleet with accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform and authorize 100-hour and annual inspections in full compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
  • Isolate and correct faults in electrical and avionics systems using sound diagnostic methods
  • Contribute to avionics installation and upgrade projects including radios, GPS, ADS-B, and full autopilot suite integrations
  • Execute light sheet metal and structural repairs as aircraft condition requires
  • Apply maintenance manuals, ADs, Service Bulletins, and technical drawings to resolve mechanical discrepancies
  • Enter completed work into the shop's maintenance tracking system promptly and accurately
  • Keep personal workspace and shop areas orderly and to a consistent standard
  • Participate in rotational weekend coverage and AOG response as part of the on-call support rotation
Minimum Requirements
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • 3 or more years maintaining GA piston aircraft as a certificated A&P
  • Verifiable experience completing and signing off 100-hour inspections
  • Proficiency troubleshooting avionics and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
  • Personal set of basic aviation hand tools required
  • Thorough documentation habits and clear communication with the crew
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied positions, and operate around standard fuel, solvent, and component exposure
Ideal Qualifications
  • Current Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Hands-on experience with Garmin G1000, Avidyne, or comparable integrated avionics platforms
  • Airframe structural repair and sheet metal work background
  • Time on turboprop aircraft
  • Prior lead technician or supervisory experience
  • Background in flight school or high-cycle fleet environments
