Sr Engineer - RF Design And Analysis

Responsibilities

• Work with the project lead to understand high-level intentions and scope of the project and convert the high-level instructions into phased actionable and deliverable steps.
• Research, recommend, document and evangelize RF coverage and design parameters for various frequency bands
• Conduct RF coverage, capacity and design analysis for variety of bands using tools such as Atoll
• Summarize, rationalize, document and present outcome of the RF analysis
• Identify conclusions, open questions, and next steps from the RF analysis work
• Collaborate with and influence other internal teams doing similar RF analysis to converge on best industry and internal practices
• Use your extensive 4G and 5G RF design and deployment experience to suggest enhancements to the newly proposed tool for efficiency and functional improvements.
• Understand the existing software and its limitations; suggest ideas, steps, and requirements to bring the current implementation to support the new vision.
• Collaborate with other members of the team to understand their perspective and requirements for the new and improved RF design and deployment software tool
• Communicate and educate internal staff and external contractors, which includes both software and RF design experts, in understanding the requirements
• Take ownership, document and demonstrate success, anticipate challenges and propose solutions

Required Education And Experience

• Required:
  
  MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 10+ years of experience in 3
  
  GPP wireless network analysis, and design
• Required:
  
  5+ years of hands-on experience in the wireless communication domain dealing with RF propagation modeling and design software such as ATOL, iBwave
• Required:
  
  Ability to think critically, identify gaps and opportunities
• Required:
  
  Ability to produce finished consumable research products such as requirements document and power point presentation
• Required:
  
  5+ years of experience in conceiving, collecting, and drafting implementable software requirements
• Required:
  
  Experience working with software architects and RF design teams.
• Desired:
  Experience specifying enhancement requirements to existing and new APIs
• Required:
  
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Required:
  
  Ability to work in a team environment, conduct RF analysis in various bands, articulate software requirements backed by objective reasons (e.g., cost savings, time saving, simplification of processes)
