Project Engineer – FBM Program

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Project Engineer to join our component engineering team. The successful candidate will lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

• Develop and maintain project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and test, to ensure that projects are properly planned and executed.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects, including technical, schedule, and budget risks.
• Develop and maintain project status reports, including progress, issues, and risks.
• Collaborate with program management to develop and maintain program‑level plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Collaborate with other integrated product teams to ensure that projects are aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

• Project engineering experience.
• Missile or space segment design and test experience.
• Experience throughout the engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test, and operational deployment).
• Eligibility/willingness to obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance – U.S. Citizenship Required.

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Open Plan.
• Demonstrated systems thinking abilities.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical scope with technical leads.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience using JIRA or Version 1 or similar tools for project planning and tracking.
• Experience in Business Rhythm creation and management.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and risk mitigation abilities.
• Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
• Certification in project management, such as PMI/PMP or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP).
• Active or current Secret clearance.

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.

Secret

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.

Onsite Full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules. The schedule for this position is 9x80 every other Friday off.
