Job Overview

As an Engineering Manager II you will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team in an agile environment, driving innovative and compliant solutions while delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve project milestones.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of engineering products.
  • Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
  • Drive the development and implementation of technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Present project updates and technical data to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with test engineering teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and validation plans.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of test and validation activities to ensure engineering solutions meet requirements.
  • Lead Test and Validation activities, ensuring systems are built correctly and are the right solution.
  • Guide teams in planning and executing verification and validation efforts aligned with organizational standards and test program processes.
  • Oversee development of test plans, test cards, and validation criteria; facilitate Test Readiness Reviews and Flight Readiness Reviews.
  • Ensure anomalies discovered during test execution are documented, tracked, and resolved.
  • Ensure engineering solutions meet stakeholder needs, comply with mission‑critical requirements, and are validated in realistic operational environments.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline.
  • Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years of management experience.
  • Background in Test and Validation in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and serve as the approving authority for low‑risk Safety Review Boards and Technical Review Boards, supported by hands‑on test operations and test hazard analysis experience.
  • Proven experience conducting or evaluating test hazard analyses.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Qualifications – Prefer
  • Previous management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing staff competence.
  • Graduate of a recognized military or civilian Test Pilot School.
  • Experience identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success.
  • Understanding of how to prepare project schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Ability to motivate/work with others.
  • Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
Essential Functions
  • Must be able to work in an office environment or hybrid setting.
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 10% of the time).
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Ability to understand technical documents, schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
  • Ability to work with and collaboratively lead teams of engineers.
Benefits & Compensation

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $ - $. The disclosed range may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance commensurate with the level of the position and a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans; 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%; life insurance; 3 weeks paid time off; tuition reimbursement and more.

Security Clearance

Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible for clearance.
