SUMMARY:Performs structural engineering analysis and design in order to meet project and client requirements in the mining industrybyperformingthefollowingduties.

- 3.Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portion of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognises discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
- a.Responsibleforthestructuraldesign,designcriteriaandcodecomplianceforentirestructural systemsorprojects
- b.Usesexperiencetoassistininitialstructurallayoutsandbeamsizing
- c.Usesexperiencetohelpwithmaterialtake‐offestimatesforproposals
- d.Communicates necessary structural information such as member sizes, connection, and welds, to othersfor thepreparationofprojectdrawingsandspecifications
- e.Understandmaterialspecificationsforthestructureandhasadevelopedunderstandingofrelevant steelcodesandbuildingcodes
- f.Developsandcommunicatesstructuraldetailsofconnections,andproposesalternate framing solutionstostructuralsystemsasrequired
- g.Perform structural analysis and design of structures such as steel supports for conveyors, crushers,screens, tanks, pipes and other equipment, and their foundations where appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:Toperformthisjobsuccessfully,anindividualmustbeabletoperformeachessentialdutysatisfactorily.
Therequirementslistedbelowarerepresentativeoftheknowledge,skill,and/orabilityrequired.
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (Structural) in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Sixor more years related experience.
LicenseP.E.ingoodstanding (desired, but not required)
Preferred Education/Experience:
Master’s Degree form an accredited college or university desired, not required. Knowledgeofmining and bulk material handling industries.
Computer Skills/Experience:
Drawing Software: 2D & 3D using Auto Cad, Advance Steel, Solid Works (desired but not required). Design Software:
RISA‐3D or similar.
Reviews designs of other structural engineers for code and design specification compliance. Uses experience to suggestinitialstructurallayouts to other disciplines. Mentors structural engineering interns and other beginning structuralengineers.
JOBELEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities requiredbythisjobincludeclosevisionandtheabilitytoviewa computer screen for long periods, with periodic breaks.
Travel may be required for various projects both nationally and internationally.
