As a Ordnance Engineer, you will be expected to collaborate well in a environment and have excellent communication skills. In this role you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.

Your duties will include responsibility for the design, manufacture, procurement, analysis and test for the initiation system, separation, and mechanism ordnance and propulsion components, assemblies and systems. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, test, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities. Other duties may include:

• Support Ordnance and Propulsion Subsystem Integration
• Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of ordnance and propulsion components
• Perform requalification of production and test operations
• Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components
• Ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing detailed design/analysis activity.
• Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

• Mechanical design experience

US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience

• Experience writing and negotiating FBM specifications.
• Experience with system or component level reviews - especially with FBM
• Experience with mechanical hardware and systems
• Understanding of ordnance and propulsion engineering principals
• Experience with FBM processes and documentation
• Experience in problem investigations, particularly with small ordnance
• Experience with ordnance system integration
• Knowledge of Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Hands on hardware experience
