This is a hybrid position requiring weekly onsite presence at our Englewood, Colorado location.
How You'll Create Impact- Lead development efforts for key components or subsystems of Advanced Technologies programs, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project objectives.
- Define and refine system and subsystem requirements with emphasis on technical feasibility, data quality and availability, interfaces, and measurable performance criteria.
- Independently develop and mature software, algorithms, computational models, and prototype systems from feasibility through increasingly product-relevant implementations.
- Collaborate with Clinical Affairs, Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Hardware, and other cross-functional teams in the design, testing, integration, and deployment of innovative technologies.
- Develop and document test strategies and protocols, analyze results, identify root causes, and recommend design improvements.
- Apply requirements-based development and appropriate design controls as technologies progress toward commercial medical products.
- Mentor and support junior engineers through technical reviews, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day engineering guidance.
- Support ongoing research and development initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies, identifying technical risks, and designing experiments to reduce uncertainty.
- Manage multiple technical priorities with limited supervision and communicate risks, dependencies, and progress to project stakeholders.
- Participate in surgical observations and clinical collaborations to translate workflow needs and clinical problems into meaningful technical solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) focused on Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Science, Robotics, Biomechanics, or related field preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of technical projects or subsystems; an advanced degree may offset a portion of industry experience where appropriate.
