Century Group is in search of an Sr. Tax & Accounting Coordinator to join a team in Englewood, CO (DTC). Qualified candidates with 3+ years of accounting experience are encouraged to apply.
$55,000 to 65,000 per year.

Hybrid (2 days from home)

Job Description:
  • Support team members with tax compliance as needed
  • Compose internal and external correspondence as needed.
  • Monitoring, updating, and maintaining the Department's tax return due date list
  • Electronically file local sales tax returns, as assigned
  • Prepare and file ancillary informational filings as assigned
  • Generate monthly sales reports for compliance filings
  • Assist with open items on the monthly tax bank account reconciliation
  • Strong Excel skills, inputting data into excel pivot tables, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Communicate monthly ACH tax payment details to Treasury
  • Interact with taxing jurisdictions to resolve notices, update account contact information, and address other issues as they arise
  • Coordinate document notarization and authorized signatories as needed
  • Ensure all sales tax licenses are current and accurate. Apply for new and renew existing sales & use tax licenses and B&O tax licenses as needed
  • Maintain all sales tax licenses in the license database
  • Identify unclaimed property refund opportunities and submit refund claims
  • Including searching online for refund opportunities, obtaining the necessary backup documentation, filing claims, tracking claim status, and periodically following up on outstanding claims.
Requirements:
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and ERP system skills
  • Vertex and SAP experience - great to have
  • 3+ years in an administrative capacity, with tax or accounting operations preferred.
  • Two-year degree, preferably in Accounting
  • Excellent phone etiquette with a customer service attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel), pivot tables, spreadsheets, analytics etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
