Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a small manufacturing business based in Englewood, Colorado. This long-term contract position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can independently manage the full-cycle accounting operations with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will ensure the financial integrity of the organization during a period of transition while maintaining strong controls and timely deliverables.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily cash activity, including cash position management and weekly cash forecasting.

- Manage Accounts Receivable processes such as invoicing, collections, and cash application.

- Administer Accounts Payable functions, ensuring accurate vendor management and timely payments.

- Process payroll efficiently, whether in-house or through an outsourced provider.

- Reconcile and maintain inventory balances while tracking material purchases and production variances.

- Ensure accurate recording of manufacturing transactions within Quick Books.

- Complete month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.

- Provide detailed financial analysis, margin insights, and variance explanations on a monthly basis.

- Respond to parent company requests for documentation, reporting formats, and data extracts.

- Support acquisition-related activities, including purchase accounting support.

Requirements - Extensive experience in managing month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.

- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and valuation processes.

- Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and cash management functions.

- Demonstrated ability to prepare trial balances and produce accurate financial statements.

- Skilled in payroll processing, including billing and collection activities.

- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books and Excel formulas.

- Ability to ensure accurate and audit-ready general ledger management.

- Experience in financial reporting and analysis, particularly within manufacturing environments.
