As a member of the Finance/Accounting Management Team, the Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and driving improvement in the company's overall reporting, cash flow and all general daily accounting operations. In addition, this person will assist the FP&A Manager with costing insight, profitability reporting, and any impacts Customer activity may have on Cash Flow.
Essential Functions
- Lead and Drive Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Close cycles
- Responsible for overseeing day-to-day tasks with regards to Cash Flow and Cash balances, Journal Review, Payment Approval, Banking Transactions etc.
- Develop, train, and mentor direct reports to grow and maximize their potential
- Supports IFS Controller with all Compliance Audits and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Facilitate cross functional communication with all other Teams to ensure processes and SAP transactions are posting correctly
- Work with Group Treasury team on intercompany loan balances and banking postings
- Manages the end-to-end process for personal property tax requests, including compiling annual filing data to meet consultant deadlines
- Assists with reviewing sales tax data as necessary and supports new customer setup process as needed
- Develop department KPI’s and SOP’s and maintain department best practices
- Support Credit & Collections Lead on Credit Requests and Customer Holds as needed;
Proactively communicating and developing relationships with Sales Team and Customer Care to ensure Customer accounts are accurate - Ensure accruals are calculated and booked monthly, including posting journals and reconciling applicable accounts
- Support members of the Operations Team with transactions in the ERP system and ensuring data integrity
- Support company’s compliance program by continuing to minimize SOX process deficiencies and weaknesses
- Assist the FP&A Manager with any costing or Customer/Sales inquiries and profitability reporting needs
Role Requirements
- Experience with SAP is preferred
- This position requires physical presence in the office 4 to 5 days per week depending on business needs
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar
- 5+ years in Accounting Management or Similar Role
- Preferable experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Passion for supporting the sales team to maximize profitability
- Understand drivers of margins, cash flow, and absorption
- Desire to work in a high-profile role, frequently interacting with company leadership
- Ability to influence Directors and Managers
- Knack for speaking to all levels of an organization
