As a Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) / CNA you will deliver high quality, patient‑centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
Here is some of what you can expect from being a PCT Lead with us:
- You will work under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department and perform or assist with more advanced procedures based on one or more achieved specialty certifications.
- You will help with ongoing training and/or precepting new and current employees.
- You will also be responsible for ensuring new processes, equipment, and other changes are communicated and/or taught to other PCTs.
- You will assist in the hiring process by participating in the peer interview process.
- You will develop the orientation manual and assist with orientation of new personnel.
- You will serve as a positive role model and resource for peers.
What qualifications you will need:
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- CNA Training Program is required.
- Two or more years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- One or more years of experience in an HCA facility is required.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- CNA certification with the state or Fundamentals of Nursing Course at an accredited school is required.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- HCA Preceptor Training is required within 90 days of hire.
