SALARY

$18,181 to $23,000 per year depending on experience and Faculty rank. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials. The RVU Rank and Promotions Committee will determine rank of any finalist.

Primary Purpose

The ideal candidate will possess a proficient background in nurse or physician anesthesiology, demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching, and the enhancement of clinical competencies among nurse anesthesia students.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and deliver curriculum for nurse anesthesia courses following program objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Supervise and mentor nurse anesthesia students in both clinical and academic settings, ensuring high standards of care and learning.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, publications, and presentations in the field of nurse anesthesia.
  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts to meet and exceed accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and academic staff to promote an interdisciplinary approach to anesthesia education.
  • Stay abreast of current trends, techniques, and advancements in nurse anesthesia practice and education.
  • Participate in the assessment or evaluation of and provide feedback to other members of the faculty as a portion of the college’s ongoing quality improvement and assessment program.
  • Attend DNAP Program faculty meetings, retreats, and accreditation-related events.
  • Responsible for helping the students select their topic and prepare doctoral work.
  • Attends a minimum of one state or national nurse anesthesia meetings yearly.
  • Participate in DNAP admissions interviewing process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and supporting the mission of the program and the university.
  • Maintains an active clinical practice.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of nurse anesthesia and anesthesiology principles, techniques, and advancements.
  • An understanding of the accreditation standards and requirements for nurse anesthesia programs.
  • The ability to develop, deliver, and continuously improve curriculum.
  • Strive in utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring students in diverse clinical settings.
  • Engagement in research, publications, and presentations relevant to nurse anesthesia.
  • Strive in participating in program evaluation and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to direct and manage components within the nurse anesthesia program.
  • Outstanding communication abilities with a track record of collaborative work.
