Hospital Greeter – Parking Services

The Hospital Greeter creates a welcoming and supportive first impression for patients, visitors, guests, and staff. This position provides directions, answers questions, coordinates with the valet team, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and professional entrance area.

The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, attentive, and comfortable assisting people in a busy healthcare environment.

Provide a warm, helpful, and professional experience while supporting safe and efficient activity throughout the hospital entrance, valet lane, and surrounding areas.

Welcome patients, visitors, guests, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.

Provide clear directions and general information about hospital departments, entrances, and services.

Coordinate vehicle and key activity with the valet team.

Notify valet employees when vehicles are ready to be parked or retrieved.

Help organize vehicle and pedestrian traffic within the service lane.

Park or retrieve vehicles when assigned and qualified to do so.

Retrieve wheelchairs and provide nonclinical assistance within the employee's training and assigned responsibilities.

Do not perform patient transfers, medical assistance, or other clinical duties unless specifically trained and authorized.

Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions and concerns.

Report accidents, hazards, suspicious activity, loitering, and security concerns to management or hospital security.

Avoid physical confrontation and never place yourself or others in an unsafe situation.

Keep entrance areas, valet lanes, workstations, and surrounding parking areas clean and organized.

Report debris, spills, damaged equipment, lighting problems, and other maintenance concerns.

Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, hospital personnel, supervisors, and team members.

Follow company, hospital, safety, infection-control, confidentiality, uniform, attendance, and timekeeping requirements.

Attend required meetings and complete assigned training by established deadlines.

Perform other job-related duties consistent with the position's responsibilities and operational needs.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous hospitality, healthcare, administrative, valet, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.

Friendly and service-focused approach when assisting patients and visitors.

Strong verbal communication and active-listening skills.

Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a busy environment.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to work effectively with hospital personnel, guests, supervisors, and team members.

Availability to work assigned days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The essential functions of this position may require:

Standing and walking for extended periods.

Moving throughout hospital entrances, driveways, sidewalks, and parking areas.

Bending, reaching, and regularly entering or exiting vehicles when valet duties are assigned.

Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Pushing unoccupied wheelchairs and providing other nonclinical assistance within assigned responsibilities.

Working indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and other weather conditions.

Working near moving vehicles, pedestrians, traffic, noise, and vehicle exhaust.

Remaining alert to patients, visitors, vehicles, and changing environmental conditions.
