We are seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist to join our client's payroll team. A minimum of five years of relevant payroll experience required. Direct experience with Certified Payroll, Davis-Bacon, and Prevailing Wage reporting is required.

Duties of the Certified Payroll Specialist:
  • Process and manage multi-state, weekly payroll for roughly 2,000 employees in Paylocity
  • Maintain complete adherence to weekly certified payroll reporting obligations for projects subject to the Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage regulations
  • Examine and verify all weekly certified payroll reports, submitting them accurately and addressing any rejected filings through investigation and correction as needed
  • Review and correct weekly certified payroll submissions to guarantee accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and generate comprehensive payroll reports
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries, wage report requests, and support tax reporting and external auditing agency requests
  • Assist with year-end payroll closing, audit tasks, and compliance reporting obligations
Requirements of the Certified Payroll Specialist:
  • Experience in prevailing wage payroll (required)
  • Paylocity is a preferred software
  • 5+ years of experience in prevailing wage compliance or certified payroll administration
    required
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state prevailing wage laws and apprenticeship program requirements
  • Experience reviewing and auditing subcontractor certified payroll reports
