Principal Systems Security Engineer
As a Principal Systems Security Engineer, you will act as a key leader in developing and executing our security strategy. You will oversee the security architecture, manage high‑stakes security incidents, and provide expert consultation across the organization.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of enterprise‑wide security strategy
- Manage and oversee all aspects of security architecture and design
- Lead high‑stakes incident response and digital forensics
- Conduct and oversee comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments
- Develop and enforce advanced security controls and protocols
- Research and integrate cutting‑edge security tools and technologies
- Provide expert consultation and guidance on security matters
- Mentor and develop junior security engineers and teams
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years of experience in IT security or a related field, or 16+ years of experience in the absence of a degree
- Deep expertise in cybersecurity principles and practices
- Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST and ISO
27001 - Current/Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI required
- ISSM CISSP, CISM, CISSP‑ISSEP, ISSO, Security+, CISA, CASP+ certifications
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Linux, and/or Cisco CCNP Security certifications
- Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
- Ability to work primarily at a computer for extended periods
- Capability to participate in on‑call rotation for incident response
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
- Occasional travel may be required
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $ – $. Compensation varies based on skill, experience, education, and certifications. Annual incentive pay is commensurate with the level of the position. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans; 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%; life insurance; 3 weeks paid time off; tuition reimbursement; and more.
EligibilityThis position requires current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for employment; non‑U.S. citizens are not eligible for this position.
