Principal Engineer- Wireless Operations

Description

The Principal Engineer I - Wireless / WiFi Operations serves as the Director's trusted technical leader and deployment authority within the Wireless WiFi Operations organization. This individual owns a technical domain end-to-end and acts as the final technical review before production deployments occur.

Responsibilities include:

+ Reviewing and approving Tier 2 engineers' MOPs, configurations, and deployment plans

+ Owning wireless infrastructure platforms such as wireless controllers, AAA/RADIUS, WAG/BNG, firewalls, ACLs, or automation platforms

+ Executing firmware upgrades, maintenance windows, configuration campaigns, and hardware replacements

+ Serving as a Tier 3 escalation resource during production incidents

+ Performing root cause analysis and working directly with vendor TAC organizations

+ Developing operational automation using Python, Ansible, CI/CD, and APIs

+ Auditing and remediating standards compliance across the network

+ Mentoring engineers and elevating overall technical capability

+ Partnering with planning, design, operations, NOC, and vendor teams

+ Communicating effectively with technical teams and executive leadership during outages and operational events
