Position: Test Engineer - Mission Software (Top Secret/SCI with agreement to obtain CI Poly)

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Test Engineer to join a geospatial intelligence capability development program supporting critical national security missions. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination. The successful candidate will work alongside software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, and mission experts within a cross-functional Agile Scrum team, driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle in a Dev Sec Ops  environment.

Responsibilities:

The Test Engineer will lead the planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple Agile sprints, designing and maintaining both automated and manual test cases for new and existing capabilities. The role involves performing functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing while validating application performance, reliability, security, and usability. The engineer will collaborate with software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality is built into every release, identify and track software defects through resolution, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, analyze test results, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Skills/

Experience:
  • Manual and automated test plan creation and execution
  • Automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent
  • API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
  • CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops, or similar platforms
  • Defect management tools such as Jira
  • Agile software development methodologies and Scrum practices
Preferred Skills/

Experience:
  • Scripting languages including JavaScript and Python
  • Containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Performance testing tools such as JMeter or Load Runner
  • Cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or Open Shift
  • Dev Sec Ops  pipelines and automated quality assurance practices
  • Geospatial applications or GEOINT data
  • DoD or Intelligence Community program experience
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or Master's degree in a related field
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination
  • US citizenship required
  • Certifications such as ISTQB, CASTP, CAST, CSTE, or Security+ preferred
