Position: 2027 Summer Intern: Network Automation Engineer

Spectrum Internship Experience

At a Glance

You're a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university:

  • Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science

This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field.

Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027.

In addition to role-specific projects, you'll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

Internship responsibilities may include:

  • The Datacenter Network Design team is responsible for all networking architecture and design within the Charter data centers. They lead our move to infrastructure as code, and AI driven code development in the network space.
  • The intern will be mentoring with principal network engineers to solve network design challenges and develop AI driven automation for the data center networking space.
Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
