Quality Control Inspector

Overview

Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver). A third facility in Longmont, CO (a suburb of Denver) provides in-house repair and fabrication of tools & dies.

• Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
• Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor
• Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database
• Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
• Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager
• Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive action for process, product, internal, and external customer concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned
