Welding Line Operator - Submerged Arc
About the Job:Join our team in a modern pre-engineered metal building shop and work with a newer Submerged Arc Welding line. As part of our production crew, you'll use your skills to move, fit, and tack steel members before they run through the automated submerged arc welder. It's hands‑on work that combines crane operation, blueprint reading, and welding – the kind of role where you see real results at the end of each shift.
WhatYou'll Do:
- Use overhead cranes to move and position heavy steel members.
- Read blueprints and set parts accurately for weld‑up.
- Tack‑weld assemblies to prepare for automated welding.
- Operate and monitor the submerged arc welder.
- Work with a team to keep the line running smoothly.
- Welding ability (enough to tack parts and check quality).
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Experience with overhead cranes (or willingness to learn).
- Strong work ethic, safety‑first mindset, and common sense.
- Work with a newer, well‑maintained welding line.
- Be part of a close‑knit crew that takes pride in quality work.
- Gain valuable experience in structural steel and pre‑engineered building fabrication.
- Steady, full‑time hours with opportunities to grow your skills.
This is a hands‑on role in a heavy fabrication shop. You'll be standing, moving, and working with large steel parts and cranes. PPE is provided and required for your safety.
Consistent and punctual attendance is required. Following of all safety procedures is required. Steel toe boots required.
