Palmer DCS is looking for our next experienced Eletro-Mechanical Assembler to join our small, family oriented team! If you have experience with Control Panel Assembly, reading schematics, taking the lead on projects, and working with a strong team of like-minded contributors, keep reading to see if you fit with our team!

Key Accountabilities for Electro-Mechanical Assembler 4
  • Product Assembly (60%):
    Assembling various basic, intermediate, advanced and PLC electronic and mechanical chassis products and sub-assemblies by following schematics, diagrams, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Performing basic to intermediate assembly tasks.
  • Operating manual and power tools.
  • Ability to lay out all levels of control panels.
  • Installation of mechanical components.
  • Wiring electronic components with an understanding of control panel theory of operation.
  • Understanding of sizing charts.
  • Components spacing.
  • Wire sizing.
  • Torque ratings.
  • Fuse ratings.
  • Quality Control (20%):
    • Accurately report time charged to jobs on daily time sheet.
    • Perform electrical testing, ring out.
    • Understand the difference between control and power wire.
    • Advanced knowledge of UL 508 standards.
    • Perform unsupervised quality control functions on products built by Electro Mechanical Assemblers 3 and below.
  • Organization (10%):
    • Receiving and studying work orders.
    • Gathering tools and supplies.
    • Performing pre-production check list.
    • Follow proper procedures to request additional parts and return unused inventory at the completion of the work order.
    • Maintaining work area in compliance with 5S training.
    • Following quality management procedures.
  • Aiding general production activities (10%):
    • Ability to start and/or finish any project from another assembler during their absence.
    • Aiding in training, questions, and general mentoring of all lower level Electro-Mechanical Assemblers.
    • Ability to operate all shop equipment (plasma torch, stud welder, saws, drills, and testing equipment).
    • Ability to interpret all mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics (including customer supplied).
    • Coordinate Field Service including diagnosing electrical problems in the field by reviewing schematics, wire diagrams, testing and troubleshooting.
Education and Experience
  • Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • High school or equivalent degree required, but relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Must be a level 3 Electro-Mechanical Assembler for a minimum of 4 years or have equivalent work or education experience.
Skills and Attributes
  • Industrial and Commercial experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and progress professionally.
Physical Requirements
  • The stakeholder may be required to stand, bend, stoop and lift moderate weight.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.
