Key Responsibilities:
Leadership& Clinical Oversight
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day patient flow within the clinic.
- Serve as the primary clinical resource and leader for Medical Assistants (MAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and nursing staff.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor clinical team members, offering real-time feedback and training to support professional development and skill enhancement.
- Monitor task boxes and delegate follow-up responsibilities to appropriate staff.
- Ensure compliance with nursing policies, clinical workflows, and standard procedures.
- Support the implementation of Valley-Wide initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Coordinator and Clinic Manager on corrective actions when needed.
- Report persistent non-compliance or workflow barriers to Nurse Coordinator for resolution.
Patient Care & Support
- Provide direct patient care including medication administration, IV placement, blood draws, vital signs, and emergency response within scope of RN licensure.
- Triage patients and evaluate immediate treatment needs; escalate urgent cases as appropriate.
- Educate patients on medication use, nutrition, exercise, and home health monitoring (e.g., glucometer, blood pressure cuff).
- Answer patient inquiries related to medications and clinical conditions; delegate as needed when no clinical interpretation is required.
- Operate and maintain standard clinical and lab equipment; review and process lab results.
- Perform scheduled co-visits with providers and document nurse visits per policy.
Team Development & Operations
- Assist with onboarding and training of new nursing and MA staff, including orientation schedules and training plan execution.
- Participate in staff performance evaluations in collaboration with the Director and/or Assistant Director of Nursing.
- Assist preceptors and provide support and oversight to nursing and MA students as needed.
- Monitor and oversee immunization and medication management processes.
- Create, assign, and monitor completion of daily, weekly, and monthly team duties.
- Ensure timely completion and documentation of Rapid Response events; forward documentation to the Nurse Coordinator and Compliance Nurse.
- Serve as the primary contact for Pod Support regarding patient portal direct messages
Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain current documentation of nursing care, team performance, and patient encounters within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Support infection control and clinic safety protocols.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Qualification & Skills:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of the scope of practice for RN, LPN, and MA roles.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare IT systems.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
