Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Women's Surgical Med/Surg unit position in the Denver metro area, requiring a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in an 18-bed Women's Surgical unit (5

East) within a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes post-operative gynecological, urological, and oncological cases,

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1,

• Common procedures include post-op assessments, post-prostatectomy and post-hysterectomy care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), pain management including PCAs and epidurals, and Foley catheter maintenance,

• EMR system:
Meditech (prior experience preferred),

• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts),

Job Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required,

• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start),

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Med/Surg or a related acute care setting,

• At least 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required,

• GYN/Oncology, urology, and/or post-op Med/Surg experience preferred,

• Prior Meditech EMR experience preferred,

• US SSN and DOB required for consideration,

• One professional reference required,

• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months,

• Responsibilities include providing post-operative nursing care, pain management, and ongoing patient assessments for a women's surgical population,

• Unit is staffed with 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 1-2 techs per night shift,

• Unit is known for strong team culture, collaborative provider relationships, and a notably low staff turnover rate of 6%,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible for this position
