Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Spine unit position in Englewood, CO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Works on the 7 North-Spine unit (Floor 8 Tower) of an acute care hospital,

• Unit consists of 18-20 beds with a team of approximately 35 staff members,

• Patient ratio is 6:1 with LPN support,

• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2-3 RNs, 1 LPN, and 1-3 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 1 LPN, and 1-2 PCTs,

• Common procedures include wound and dressing care for post-op burn and flap patients,

• Equipment used includes Hoyer lifts, air mattresses, wound vacs, and PCA pumps,

• EMR system is Meditech,

• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts),

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand,

• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start),

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required,

• ACLS preferred,

• Burn care experience preferred,

• Wound care and ostomy care experience preferred,

• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months,

• US SSN and DOB required for consideration - no exceptions,

• One professional reference required,

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include caring for post-operative spine, burn, and flap patients with complex wound and dressing needs,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible,

• Candidates should be collaborative team players with a positive attitude
