Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Women's Surgical Med/Surg unit position in the Denver metro area, requiring a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and a CO or compact RN license.

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Med/Surg or a related acute care setting
• At least 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required
• GYN/Oncology, urology, and/or post‑op Med/Surg experience preferred
• Prior Meditech EMR experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Work in an 18‑bed Women's Surgical unit (5
  
  East) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post‑operative gynecological, urological, and oncological cases
• Nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 6:1
• Common procedures include post‑op assessments, post‑prostatectomy and post‑hysterectomy care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), pain management including PCAs and epidurals, and Foley catheter maintenance
• EMR system:
  Meditech (prior experience preferred)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12‑hour shifts)
• Responsibilities include providing post‑operative nursing care, pain management, and ongoing patient assessments for a women's surgical population
• Unit is staffed with 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 1–2 techs per night shift
• Unit is known for strong team culture, collaborative provider relationships, and a notably low staff turnover rate of 6%
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
