American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a cardiovascular operating room position requiring a minimum of 1 year of CVOR experience and open heart surgery experience, located in the Denver metro area.
Requirements- Active RN license (CO license or Compact license) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience as a CVOR RN required
- Open heart surgery experience is required
- Level I trauma experience preferred
- Cardiovascular experience preferred
- Prior Meditech EMR experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Work setting is a main hospital OR suite with 14 operating rooms and a staff of 70 FTEs
- Cardiovascular OR unit performing complex cardiac procedures including AVR, MVR, CABG, Bentall, and aortic dissection repair
- Patient ratio is 1:1 in the OR
- Day shift staffing includes a charge nurse, one RN and one surgical tech per OR, PCTs, ATs, and a trauma team; night shift includes a charge nurse, one RN, and one surgical tech
- Primary shift hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with flexibility for day/evening hours as needed
- On-call requirements include approximately 1–2 call shifts per week (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) and every 6th weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- EMR system is Meditech; prior Meditech experience is preferred but not required
- 13-week contract
- Responsibilities include managing the operating room, assisting surgeons, monitoring vital signs, and providing pre- and post-operative care
- Ideal candidates are team players who demonstrate a high level of accountability, clinical expertise, and self‑direction
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- This position is located within the HCA Far West / N CA Region, which requires a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in the area of placement
