Medical Surgical Nurse

Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients in a busy hospital unit. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective patient care and promote recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ health status and prioritize care needs for up to 49 patients on a med/surg unit.
• Administer medications, wound care, and perform bowel programs for surgical and spinal cord injury patients.
• Monitor telemetry data and respond promptly to abnormal findings to ensure patient safety.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid RN license and a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care hospital experience in Med/Surg.
• Hold current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with telemetry monitoring and wound care procedures.
• Have experience caring for post-surgical and spinal cord injury patients with complex wounds.
• Show excellent communication and teamwork skills.
