Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Operating Room Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the operating room setting. Collaborates with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during all phases of surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Render direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assist with and maintain sterile field during operations.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition promptly.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid registered nurse license in the state of practice.
• Hold at least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience, preferably in an operating room setting.
• Demonstrate circulating and scrubbing experience in surgical procedures.
• Have current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
• Experience with Meditech EMR system is a plus.
