Registered Nurse – Orthopedic

Orthopedic Nursing Specialist

Provide specialized orthopedic nursing care to surgical and trauma patients in a hospital setting. Support patient recovery, monitor progress, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop care plans tailored to orthopedic needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform wound care according to protocols.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including CPM machines, nerve block pumps, and On-Q balls.
• Document patient information accurately using electronic medical records.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient discharge and follow-up plans.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, specifically in orthopedic surgery or trauma.
• Must have current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Meditech or similar electronic health record systems.
• Possess strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a positive teamwork attitude.
• Ability to work 7A-7P shifts efficiently and reliably.
