Start Date: 09-14-2026

End Date: 12-14-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Evenings (3pm-3am) & Nights, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend; schedule released 4-6 weeks in advance (may include Just-In-Time assignments)

Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
  • Float across multiple facilities within the Denver Zone 3 area, adapting quickly to new environments
  • Triage, assess, and stabilize patients with acute conditions like stroke, trauma, and cardiac emergencies
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide seamless patient-centered care
  • Document all nursing interventions accurately in EPIC electronic health record
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, responding to changes in patient status
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing as part of rapid diagnostics
  • Mentor and support newer staff while maintaining a calm presence during high-acuity situations
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications (AHA preferred)
  • EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to float and work at multiple locations within a 60-mile radius
  • Strong telemetry interpretation skills
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and holidays as part of the schedule
Knowledge & Skills
  • Comfort with standard ER medications, drips, and point-of-care testing
  • Ability to make rapid clinical decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of diverse patient diagnoses including abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and HTN
  • Adaptability to varying nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4-5) and facility protocols
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) proficiency
