American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Neuro Med Surg unit requiring a CO or compact RN license and 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience for a 7P-7A night shift assignment.

• Neuro Med Surg unit with 38 beds and approximately 55 staff members
• Day shift staffing includes 2 charge nurses, 4-5:1 RN-to-patient ratio, and 2 PCTs
• Night shift staffing includes 1-2 charge nurses (based on staffing needs), 4-5:1 RN-to-patient ratio, and 2 PCTs
• Typical patient ratios are 5:1 or 6:1, though not guaranteed
• Uses IV pumps, seizure monitoring equipment, Bi-PAP, C-PAP (primarily at night), and glucometers
• Meditech EMR system used for charting
• 13-week assignment on 7P-7A night shift

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of current Med/Surg experience required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Neuro experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Perform NIH stroke assessments, neuro assessments, and fall risk assessments
• Provide trach care and manage feeding tubes
• Follow Neuro Clinical Practice Guidelines for stroke (AANN)
• Best suited for candidates who are enthusiastic about the neuro patient population with strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
• Ideal candidates are collaborative, take initiative, and remain flexible and engaged in patient experience
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
