American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Stepdown/PCU position requiring an active CO or Compact RN license and NIH Stroke Certification.

• Work in the ICU Stepdown unit of a cardiac center of excellence, high-acuity hospital setting
• 20-bed unit staffed with RNs and PCTs
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 5 nurses, 3 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge RN, 5 nurses, 2 PCTs
• Uses telemetry and transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps
• Performs procedures such as chest tube placement/removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs
• Manages drips including heparin, Tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, and ketamine
• Uses Meditech EMR
• 13-week assignment on a 5P-5A night shift schedule

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 1 year of current PCU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Cardiac and extensive neuro experience preferred
• No gaps in work history totaling 90+ days within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, challenging cardiac unit known for high acuity
• Team-oriented, high-energy personality is a strong fit for this unit
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the minimum experience requirement
