Data Center Cabling QA/QC Technician
Are you experienced in structured cabling, fibre testing, and quality assurance within mission-critical environments? We are looking for a Data Center Cabling QA/QC Technician to support a high-profile data center project.
As a Data Center Cabling QA/QC Technician, your scope will cover the following:
- Port-to-Port Validation:
- Physically trace and verify each comms path from source port to destination port within the assigned zone;
- Confirm physical port labelling matches build documentation at both ends;
- Test all fibre links for polarity (MPO/MTP Tx to Rx alignment), insertion loss within specification, and physical continuity;
- Test copper paths (if present) for continuity, wiremap, length, and insertion loss per TIA-568 Cat6A or equivalent
- Fault Identification & Logging:
- Log all faults against port — categories include: mispatch, polarity reversal, high insertion loss, physical damage, missing or incorrect labelling;
- Photograph fault evidence per QA requirements
- Rectification:
- In-pair rectification: re-patching, label correction, connector re-seat, polarity swap at patch panel — re-test immediately after;
- Escalated rectification (re-termination, trunk replacement, re-route): flag to shift lead and site supervisor — do not proceed without sign-off
- Shift Handover & Documentation:
- Shift handover report per shift: zones completed, pass/fail count, open faults, escalated items;
- Test records maintained for all validated ports — tester , timestamp, result;
- Final validated port schedule submitted to at programme completion
