What is an HUB Inventory Specialist?
Hub Inventory Specialist is responsible for Hub order fulfillment and inventory control. The individual in this role should have good knowledge of store systems, basic parts knowledge and good interpersonal skills. The role has in-depth knowledge of the store inventory and requires the ability to network with nearby stores, hubs, pdq and external suppliers for order fulfillment. This position is full time.
Position can be MVR certified and should complete all training materials and attend all store meetings.
- Responsible for Hub operations and resolution of Hub orders in a timely manner.
- Review Hub orders, pulling parts, staging product, finalizing paperwork.
- Interaction with Drivers on paperwork, instructions, etc.
- Engage store to facility network to determine part sourcing and logistics solutions; work with ordering store for fulfillment options if unavailable in network.
- Work with GM, DL and SSC support for proper inventory mix and levels.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and functions – cycle counts, outages, planograms, maxi changes, price changes, front & face, truck lead.
- Manage and comply with all Hub records and all paperwork policies and procedures.
- Additional inventory activities including overstocks, callbacks, resets.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Assist with front room inventory functions.
- Assist with cores and defects.
- Fixed activities: store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment, including forklift, pallet jack and/or hand jack.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
Job Skills Necessary for Success as a HUB Inventory Specialist
- Competency in oral and written communications and basic math computations.
- Prior retail experience, including basic merchandising and inventory management skills.
- Ability to drive forklift, if certified and applicable, and use a hand truck and pallet jack.
- Well mannered, neat appearance, ability to meet and deal with the public in an unbiased manner.
- Previous work records that demonstrate stability and performance results.
- Scheduling flexibility – able to come to work on short notice and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
- Immediate reporting to General Manager and/or District Leader of any violation of company policy or procedure.
- Inventory management in a retail environment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical DemandsThe physical demands include walking or standing for prolonged periods, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is primarily inside but occasionally outside and exposed to weather conditions while performing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives; and vibration. Noise level is typically moderate.
Compensation RangeThe estimate for this role is between 20.75 USD and 23.09 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles and other skillsets, as well as shift differential if applicable.
