Meadow Gold has immediate job openings for a skilled Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repair services on different types of fleet vehicles under DOT and company regulations. In this role, the person will also perform preventive fleet maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic systems to identify root causes of fluctuating failures/conditions.

OUR MECHANICS FOR THIS POSITION CAN MAKE UP TO:
- $31.24 per hour.
Shift: Monday‑Friday, 9:00am‑5:30pm

- Perform basic vehicle and preventive maintenance, component replacements, and minor repairs.
- Maintain, repair, inspect, and/or replace brakes, steering mechanisms, springs, airbags, lights, air conditioners, water, fuel, oil, air filters, coolant and chemicals, transmissions, tire air pressure, tire tread, tires, chassis, drive lines, u‑joints, air tanks, batteries, air lines, power cords, wipers, mirrors, drive‑train components, or other equipment as necessary.
- Use shop management system and other electronic systems available.
- Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable.
- Identify root cause of “minor” failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
- Interact with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
- Work in accordance with all federal, state, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT).
- Complete work orders and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining high‑quality standards in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Respond to accidents or inoperable vehicles to transport equipment back to shop for repair, if appropriate.
- Keep management informed of safety, operator, and equipment observations and concerns.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes, utilizing continuous improvement mindset.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area which may include wearing all required PPE in designated areas, confined‑space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

Requirements- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Preferred experience with INSITE, DL and NAVSTAR service tools.
- Experience with FWHA / BIT requirements.
- Experienced with brake systems or certified with BENDIX / WABCO.
- Must be able to pass all pre‑employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach and crawl and possibly sit for virtually the entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others.
- Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment, with moderate noise and cold and hot temperature ranges.
- Must be able to follow all required work safe practices.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
