Maintenance Technician I/II/III

The City of Sheridan is currently seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our Public Works team. We have openings for three distinct roles: PW Maintenance Technician II, Public Works Maintenance Worker I, and Public Works Maintenance III. Each of these positions plays a crucial part in maintaining and improving our city's infrastructure and services. Public Works Maintenance Worker I

• Perform semi-skilled and unskilled tasks in the maintenance of streets, buildings, grounds, and traffic control.
• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, street sweepers, and graders.
• Monitor and assist the work of community service workers.

PW Maintenance Technician II

• Perform repairs and operate heavy equipment in the maintenance of streets, buildings, and grounds.
• Handle traffic control, including signage, flagging, and street striping.
• Order parts and supplies for fleet maintenance.
• Assist with animal control and transport of City vehicles.

Public Works Maintenance III

• Serve as crew leader and perform skilled manual labor in construction and maintenance.
• Monitor work and prioritize services to meet quality standards.
• Manage fleet vehicles and equipment compliance.
• Oversee Pavement Management Program and participate in project bidding.

Public Works Maintenance Worker I

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in construction or maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of equipment, building, and grounds maintenance.
• Colorado Driver's License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months.

PW Maintenance Technician II

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of experience in construction or maintenance.
• Solid knowledge of equipment, building, and grounds maintenance.
• Colorado Driver's License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months.
• Flagman Certification, First Aid, and CPR.

Public Works Maintenance III

• High school diploma or equivalent with three to five years of experience in Public Works.
• Experience in operating heavy equipment and managing maintenance projects.
• Colorado Driver's License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months.
• 500-hour Equipment Operator's Certification, Flagger certification, confined space, First Aid, and CPR.
