Staff Engineer- Software

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Staff Engineer-Software sought by DISH Network, LLC in Englewood, Colorado.

• Design and develop database schema.
• Coordinate with Development, Operations and Database Administration teams to support production, performance tuning, data analysis/administration and ad hoc reporting.
• Build and support databases; understand existing schema, re‑architect and provide solutions.
• Work with MySQL, Oracle, Postgre
  
  SQL and No
  
  SQL databases; program using PL/SQL.
• Develop progressive web applications (PWAs) using HTML, Java, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, jQuery and responsive design.
• Participate actively in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, architecture, development, testing, release, and production.
• Support Agile processes (sprint planning, backlog refinement, planning activities). Coordinate with back‑end and front‑end developers to provide database solutions.
• Manage and mentor junior team members; perform code quality control and reviews; version control using Git and Git Lab.
• Implement performance, scaling, security and usability enhancements to existing products and codebases.
• Support release management: deploy builds to development, test and production; maintain CI/CD environments and basic administration/scripting.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field plus six years in a similar role.

Also requires six years of experience using the following technologies (may be gained concurrently):

• Maven, Ant and Gradle scripting

• Basic Linux administration, Jenkins, Artifactory, Rally/JIRA, Rancher, Docker, and Kubernetes

Compensation: $ per year

Rate of Pay: $169,062

Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre‑employment criminal background check, which may include a drug test.
