DUTIES:

• Lead a team of Software Development Engineers in the planning and designing of software and web applications using Golang.
• Design and implement microservices-based systems; leverage Go routines and Channels in Golang; design RESTful APIs; develop distributed systems.
• Use Git for version control; develop software and web applications using XML, JSON, HTML, CSS and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Create and manage containerized applications using Docker; deploy and scale microservices using Kubernetes.
• Manage projects from design to testing, including new programs, enhancements and modifications.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to conduct testing; develop and administer performance standards for the organizational unit.
• Manage a team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees; provide subject matter guidance to employees as required.
• Develop processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies and assist in the development and meeting of departmental budget.
• Provide guidance to Software Engineering and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements; serve as primary point of contact between Software Engineering and other teams.
• Direct implementation initiatives for new software products and applications; organize software update processes and coordinate the roll-out of software releases.
• Manage all deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications and budgets; implement performance metrics and prepare periodic reports.
• Monitor and track project progress and report findings to leadership; ensure engineers keep current with technological developments and monitor competitive applications and products.
• Develop proposals for hardware/software changes and other capital expenditure projects.
• Manage professional and non-exempt employees, conduct work performance reviews, and guide and mentor junior-level engineers.
• Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience designing and implementing microservices-based systems.
• Of which three (3) years include designing RESTful APIs; developing distributed systems; using Git for version control; developing software and web applications using XML, JSON, HTML, CSS and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Of which two (2) years include developing software using Golang or equivalent systems languages; leveraging Go routines and Channels in Golang, or equivalent multi-threading techniques in other systems languages.
• Of which one (1) year includes creating and managing containerized applications using Docker; and deploying and scaling microservices using Kubernetes.
